Course Overview
Leading oil and gas operators accept SafeLand USATM 2021 Basic with Offshore (commonly called SafeGulf) as training that meets and/or exceeds their minimum orientation requirements for employees and contractor-workers. SafeGulf has become the standard orientation program for the offshore oil and gas industry.
SafeGulf deserves such wide acceptance because it meets rigorous industry safe work recommendations including those established in API RP 75, API RP T-1 (Orientation for First Time Offshore Personnel), Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement requirements, and many OSHA awareness training regulations.
The SafeGulf-accredited 8-hour course satisfies most major/mid-major operators’ contractor-safety training requirements. The curriculum reviews hazards, controls, requirements, and recommendations with workers at an awareness level. The course introduces general safety information that any worker should know before entering a company facility and while performing assigned work duties. It intends to give each student a general idea of life and safety issues in the oil and gas industry: upstream, downstream, onshore, or offshore.
Dixon Safety Solutions (DSS) conducts this instructor-led general awareness-level course virtually most days or in-person at your location.
The International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP) Life-Saving Rules create the foundation of this program. The Life-Saving Rules identify activities most likely to expose industry workers to hazards and identifies actions workers can take to protect themselves and their colleagues from serious injuries and fatalities.
